Welcome …to Puisaye-Forterre in the heart of Bourgogne, a region rich in natural beauty and resources and home to Colette and Pierre Larousse. Only an hour and a half from Paris, you will discover this unspoilt landscape where the pace of life remains in tune with the seasons.

The château was originally owned by the Marquis du Deffand de Lalande, the husband of Marie de Vichy Champrond. The marriage was shortlived and Madame du Deffand left the Château for the court of King Louis XIV where she quickly became a noted personality and her literary salon was famed throughout Paris.
